Hot air balloon flight: A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

"There is a lot of fog in Vic”. Àngel tells us that up in the balloon we will get to see the sun and the Pyrenees while flying over the fog. I cannot believe that!!! We first inflate the hot air balloon on the esplanade.The preparation of the flight is a teamwork job: we all participate in inflating the hot air balloon, to set the basket and to take pictures. Àngel gives us the instructions, always with a smile but at the same time worried and concentrated making sure things turn out well. Once inflated, the hot air balloon seems enormous! We all climb into the basket and we start to gain height. The balloon rises gently, almost not realizing that we are ascending. You know that the balloon is rising because the Square of Vic, the houses, the cars... are becoming gradually smaller. Once we have ascended, we want to follow the direction of the wind. Àngel controls the position with the help of a sophisticated GPS. I cannot believe that but at last we are floating over the fog, at 1000 meters altitude! The sun shines and the views are amazing. I had never seen this before: a sea of clouds. The massif of Montseny and, at the background, the snow- covered Pyrenees. There is no doubt, those views and feelings are priceless: the silence is absolute and the complicity with the passengers is evident. When descending, we go into the fog again. Everything was different up there! The landing completes without complications. Overall, it is a gentle landing. However, when we start touching the ground it is more unpleasant. Àngel’s skills enable an optimal result. Once we have landed, we collect the hot air balloon, we upload the car and WE GO FOR A BRUNCH!

Passavem un dies a la Cerdanya per la Setmana Blanca. Ja estava previst que fos així des del meu aniversari, el 7 de Gener, quan el meu marit, l´Àlex, i les meves filles, l´Helena de 6 years old i la Mireia de 4, em van obsequiar amb un vol en globus en el que hi aniria tota la familia. A mi sempre m´havia fet gràcia viure aquesta experiència, peró mai havíen trobat el moment oportú per portar-la a la fi. Ara, em feia il.lusió compartir les sensacions d´un vol de bateig entre tots quatre. Per a més inri, la Mireia, la petita de la família, anava a la classe de l´Escola dels globus aerostàtics i estava entusiasmada. Haig de confesar que jo també estava neguitosa pel fet de portar a les nenes amb nosaltres: aguntaríem tot el vol? seria perillós en algún moment? Com aterraríem? Tindríen por quan s´enlairés el globus i voldríen baixar de seguida? Aquestas preguntes sense resposta em veníen al cap, amb més freqüència cada cop que s´anava apropant el dia del vol. Per sort, l´Àngel, ens va tranqulitzar, informant-nos ampliament. Volaríem amb les nenes i, de debó que si no ho haguèssim fet així, ens hauríem empenedit. El vol va resultar fantàstic. L`Àngel va encertar el dia que ho havíen de fer d´aquella setmana. Les nenes van aprendre el pre- i el post-enlairament, van participar activament, alucinaven amb la llargària i grandària del globus i amb la forma que anava agafant a mida que l´inflavem. Just abans de l´enlairament, la Mireia em va agafar fort i va exclamar: "Tinc por". Per sort, aquesta sensació no li va durar un segon: quan va mirar des de la cistella, es va adonar que estaven pujant sense cap moviment brusc i gairebé sense adonar-nos, si no fos, pel vehicle i els voltants, que s´anaven quedant cada cop més petits. A partir de llavors, vam agafar els prismàtics i vam admirar les muntanyes nevades, els poblets del voltant, els camps, el riu i tot el que el la nostra visió ens va permetre. L´aterratge va ser de categoria. L´Àngel ens havia dit que dobleguèssim les cames per amortiguar l´impacte amb el terra, peró no va caldre, perquè va dipositar la cistella en un camp, com si no res, sense desmelenar-se i amb una suavitat extraòrdinaria. La recollida també va ser divertida per fet que les nenes èren llançades al globus per ajudar a desinflar-lo i elles anaven fent "la croqueta" entre riures. L´esmorçar de després va ser agradable: el menjar era bo i el preníem a l´aire lliure, envoltats d´un paratge preciós, que combinava història i natura i com a protagonista el sól que ens va acompanyar durant aquesta nova experiència, sense dubte, encisadora. Ara, recordarem aquest matí del dia 10 de Març del 2011 gràcies a la nostra memòria, als colorits diplomes i a un conte que he preparat amb fotos i comentaris per portar a la classe dels globus aerostàtics titulat "La Mireia vola en globus". Crec que m´ha quedat bé. La Mireia ha portat el seu diploma a la classe i ja hi ha nens que li han dit als seus pares que volen Volar en globo, com la Mireia. Si ens pregunten, no pateixis, que ja els hi adreçarem a tú. Que tinguis sort, Àngel i gràcies per la bonica experiència.

Si quieres experimentar lo que siente un pájaro cuando planea sin batir las alas recomiendo hacer un viaje en globo. Allí arriba uno es parte del viento, te trasladas a su misma velocidad, siendo una experiencia relajada y tranquila. Te brinda la posibilidad de contemplar el mundo desde un punto de vista nuevo y gracias a esto surgen nuevas dimensiones en tu mente. El equipo de globubolg es amistoso y divertido, me ha ayudado a calmar mis ansias y ha estado en todos los detalles. Abrigate bien!

“Hello. I’m an 8 years old girl and I enjoyed from a hot air balloon flight with my parents. It was a great experience. I did not see anything when we climbed into the basket but it was not a problem as I was first feeling some fear. Then, my father picked me up and I was able to see how much we had been rising without even noticing it. I was able to see Vic’s square and my home as well!!!”

"Vam decidir fer algo diferent pel nostre 10è aniversari i se'ns va ocòrrer fer un viatge en globus. Hem de dir que ha estat genial i que hem encertat de ple amb Globubolg. Recomanem l'experiència a tots aquells que vulguin gaudir del relax i la tranquilitat que transmet estar penjat allà adalt, a 1km sobre els camps i les teulades dels pobles de la Cerdanaya. A més t'expliquen tot el funcionament i fins i tot participes activament en muntar i desmuntar - casi bé és lo més divertit! El viatge ens ha transmés molta pau i el tiveri que ens tenien preparat després de l'aventura va ser la guinda del pastís. Recordaremn aquesta experiència i pot ser algun dia, qui sap, ens animem a fer una travessa!"

I have always envied birds as they can fly and move freely through the sky. Last Saturday one of my dreams came true: I was able to feel like a bird and see the ground as they do. All that was possible thanks to a hot air balloon flight over Cardadeu’s area.
The hot air balloon starts to rise, it is a gentle process. Without realizing, you are already flying at 1000 meters altitude while enjoying the incredible views. 
Then, you notice that you may not know your country as well as you thought to know it, as you always find new details. It really makes a difference to see the world up in the air, you see everything bigger, greener..., and the views are definitely greater. We easily saw from the sea to the Montserrat Mountains, with the snowed-covered Pyrenees on the background.
A sensation of surprising peace surrounds you during the flight. In the air there are no noises, no rushes, everything flows, you are simply free.
This flight was a birthday gift so, in case you have to buy a present you already know it: give a hot air balloon flight as a gift either in Cardedeu, in la Cerdaya or in Vic...
IT IS A GREAT IDEA AND AN ORIGINAL PRESENT, AND IT IS DIFFERENT!!!!!!

Hola em dic Anna i el meu xicot el Jordi, em va fe un regal increïble per celebrar les meves 24 primaveres, un vol en globus . Com cap dels dos no aviem pujat mai amb el globus, anàvem una mica “acollunits”, però al arribar a Alp, l’Àngel , ens va donar molta confiança de seguida , i amb en Joan són la bomba. Em va encantar col·laborar en el funcionament del globus, treure’l de la bossa, estirar-lo, inflar-lo, el que es tot un treball en equip... En el primer moment quan vam començar a pujar va fer impressió, però de seguida t’acostumes aquelles alçades . A mida que anàvem pujant  anàvem veien  aquelles vistes, aquelles muntanyes tant impressionants, unes vistes que no es poden veure tots els dies, a mes aquell dia va fe molt bo. Quan vam  acabar d’aterrar va ser molt divertit, vam fer dos grups els guapos i els macos , i es tractava de plegar el globus i anar-lo desinflant i anar ficant-lo dintre el seu sac, em va agradar molt jo m’ho vaig prendre com un joc . Desprès de recollir el globus, la cistella i tot vam anar a esmorzar , allò era un súper esmorzar pa amb tomàquet, tastet, llonganissa , formatge fos, un pastisset, vi bo ... de tot i molt bo!!  A mes la gent es molt agradable i simpàtica. M’agradaria tornar-hi.

Nosaltres recomanem aquesta activitat a l’aire lliure a persones que tenen ganes de passar-ho bé, provar noves experiències, veure unes vistes increïbles i conèixer gent simpàtica i alegre i collonuda com ho és l’Àngel!!

We start the afternoon before with a meeting in order to plan the flight and to sleep close to the initial point of the crossing. We are really excited; we are a large group of adventurers.
The preparation is a team work job. It requires concentration so as to follow the instructions of the experts. It takes us 30 minutes to be ready and we start to gain height.
It is an amazing sensation the one of leaving the ground and not feeling fear at all, nor abrupt movements. You just feel like floating. The views are incredible, we can see all the Pyrenees, we can hardly see houses, only the valleys of the rivers, the summit of the snow-covered mountains and, curiously, the ski runs with some early skiers (now it is 8:00am. and we are getting the 4000 meters altitude…).
I do not know exactly how to define the sensation of being in the air, without nothing else than the wind and a hot air balloon that holds you. It is a sensation of freedom and of power, as you feel lucky of being up there, over everything. I do not feel the fear.  I can listen the silence like never before, and that makes me feel a great calm.
The company is fantastic, the flight is over and we have to get started again. We all collect the equipment, which requires certain teamwork effort. Then, we get into the jeep.
We get to the restaurant. There we talk about the experience and we have brunch together with the passengers, the pilot and the rescue team. Overall, it is an amazing experience that I really recommend and that I will repeat when possible.

Anem amunt, molt amunt, després avall i tot seguit altre cop amunt. Ara som a 600 m, ara a 1000m i ara a 800m.

A voltes anem direcció sud, altres cap a l’oest i d’altres cap al nord. Ens acompanyen en la distància d’altres globus d’alegres colors. Cadascun d’ells fent el seu propi camí.

Ens movem suau  i imperceptiblement de la forma més natural que hi ha de viatjar, portats pel vent, com les fulles de tardor que volen a plaer del vent sense saber quin destí els espera.

Envoltats per l’aire, pel blau intens del cel i per les majestuoses i imponents muntanyes del nostre petit país, deixem als nostres peus la terra ferma, parcel·lada i habitada pels homes, entravessada per carreteres i camins, vies de tren i petits poblets acollidors . Que lluny queden les presses i els neguits de cada dia a dalt d’aquest globus.

Quina fragilitat i alhora quina tranquil·litat ésser tan amunt. Quina pau i quina calma només trencada de tan en tan pel soroll de l’escalfador d’aire que fa possible aquest viatge màgic.

Aterrem plàcidament i toquem terra , tornem a la realitat de les nostres vides un xic més alegres, sentint-nos més vius i amb una intensa sensació de calma.
